Essential Balance

Effective and pleasant acupuncture.

Here is the art of acupuncture honed over ten years of continual study and skill refinement.

With ten years of practice, Rosanne sythensizes the results of her post–graduate training with four well known and respected Japanese acupuncture teachers.

A sense of improved health and core strength are quickly re–established, often within 4–6 sessions. Your back ache gets resolved, migraine headaches ease up and usually disappear, digestive disorders improve, sleep improves, side effects of chemo and radiation are reduced, exhaustion from worry, depression, anxiety and grief dissipates and one feels stronger and more energized from the inside out. The result is a sense of being more internally strengthened and poised to face the oncoming challenges of Life.

Acupuncture

Japanese Style Acupuncture

The Japanese styles emphasize a high level of practioner skill, including palpatory (touching) and pulse evaluation, resulting in comfort for the patient and rapid response by the body and fortified immunity. Chronic conditions, inflammations and multiple muscular pain resolve are typical examples of conditions that improve with acupuncture at Rosanne's clinic.

Most currently Rosanne is using a state–of–the–art, non–insertive needling technique. A hair–like dull stainless steel needle is simply positioned at the skin's surface. Here, she engages the body's healing and balancing potential. This “core energy”, becomes redefined and solidified thereby available to the body itself to make corrections. This is the hallmark of natural healing; the body can correct itself when stimulated properly. The result is significant improvement of the presenting condition and enhanced immunity.

Additionally, Rosanne’s repetoire of approaches include simple comfortable treatments that employ the gentle insertion of sterile one–time use needles, the use of moxibustion (a classic technique burning an herb on top of the needle warming the surrounding tissues) or electro–acupuncture (the use of a mild electric current to enhance the effect of particular needle locations).

About Acupuncture

Japanese Maple
  • Developed 3000 years ago by physicians in Oriental medicine who observed both the nature of good health and the pathological flow of Qi in ill-health. These physicians observed and learned to alter the subtle level of Qi that “ceaselessly and continuously circulates” through 14 major surface energy pathways on the body.
  • Dynamic and ever–developing, acupuncture is able to address illness and imbalances that continue to occur over the millenia. Even today the body responds to the applied principles of acupuncture.
  • Treatment supports the body to relieve the pain, correct the imbalance, and strengthen the core energy.
  • Classical acupuncture procedures include the use of manufactured pre–packaged, sterile needles which are medically disposed of after one–time use. The body is stimulated by the painless insertion of these thread–like needles at the surface of the skin.

Treatment

Poppies and Butterfly

Drawing from 27 years of healthcare experience, Rosanne Emanuele uses the following classic methods and procedures of healing for effective and painless treatment. The patient will feel deeply rested, refreshed, and energized.

  • Acupuncture
  • Moxibustion — referred to as “moxa” a procedure using the herb mugwart/artemesia either at the base of or at the tip of the needle
  • Medical Qi Gong — the passing of healing energy above the body surface
  • Cupping — suction is applied
  • Gua Sha — a dispersive scraping method

Treatments often change according to the individual's progress.

"Acupuncture is the practice of inserting thin needles into specific body points to improve health and well–being. It originated in China more than 2,000 years ago. American practices of acupuncture use medical traditions from China, Japan, Korea and other countries. In the United States, the best–known type involves putting hair–thin, metallic needles in your skin."

"Research has shown that acupuncture reduces nausea and vomiting after surgery and chemotherapy. It can also relieve pain. Researchers don’t fully understand how acupuncture works. It might aid the activity of your body's pain–killing chemicals. It also might affect how you release chemicals that regulate blood pressure and flow."

Guidelines for Your Visit

Flowers

Please turn off cell phones before coming in for your appointment.

Food

It is advised to eat at least a small snack if you’ve skipped the meal before your treatment.

Dress

Wear comfortable, loose–fitting clothes that can be pushed up to the knees and elbows. You are welcome to change before your appointment into clothes you have brought. It is also an option to remove your outer clothes for easiest access to treatment. Tight jeans and turtlenecks are not acupunture friendly!

Fees and Schedules

Payment for all services is due at the time of your visit. Since there is no receptionist, it is most convenient to arrive with your payment: cash, check or charge, ready before the session begins. This is also a good time to schedule return visits.

Cancellation

Other than sudden emergencies, 24 hours advance notice is required for cancellations. You may miss one non–canceled appointment without consequence. Also, if you cancel with too short a notice but I am able to fill the slot, you are not responsible for the fee. In all other cases, you are responsible for appointments you make.

Before Your Treatment

You are welcome to arrive a bit early to use the bathroom. Help yourself to some water.

During Your Visit

No particular faith, belief or knowledge of acupuncture is needed for good results, however, an attitude of receptivity to treatment is helpful.

After Your Treatment

For maximum results, it is recommended to avoid strong influences such as aerobic exercies, heavy weightlifting, sauna, massage or other energy work, unusually spicy food, and strong mental or emotional extremes for 24 hours. Normal activity and normal diet is recommended.

What you say will be respected as confidential.
